This product is good for small to medium size networks. It has the reliability of the CISCO network name behind, but not the price.

I have three deployed at this moment and the ease of install and quick uptime is important in today's technology environment.

Recommend buying a different brand. The original unit I owned was installed by a network installer but it stopped passing signals through after about 6 months. After lengthy discussions with the Cisco Indian support desk an RMA was obtained and a new replacement unit shipped by the company (Cisco). The second unit lasted about 3 months and then the same problem where it simply stopped passing signals through. Went to Staples to buy my third unit and got it home and could not believe that the third unit would not pass through the signal right from the beginning! Finally bought a fourth switch made by Netgear and it worked just fine and continues to hum right along.The good (and bad) thing about any of these switches are their utter simplicity to use. There is no software to install, no buttons or switches (not even an on/off switch), there is not even a reset button and when it works the auto-sensing/auto-detect aspects of it works fine. The good is that there is nothing to set or that you can screw up - the bad is that if it doesn't work there is absolutely nothing you can do about it. [...]
