Q: i have a DSL router to connect to internet. If I would like to have this one to extend my wireless connection, can I? How is difficut to set up? Because, there will be two router on one network? Asked on 5/6/2011 by wood from CT Know the answer? Answer this question 2 answers A: Wood, I have an Earthlink DSL modem attached to this Linksys E4200 router. Do you have a modem or a router? My modem will connect directly to a computer port or to this wireless router. It basically takes your DSL connection and broadcasts it for other wireless devices to pick up or you can plug non-wireless devices in to it. On my home network I have: 2 laptops, 1 wireless desktop, 1 wireless touchscreen, 2 wireless printers, 1 hardwire printer, and 1 Network Storage Device. Its not hard to configure this router and it will even download the setup/codes for your network on a flash drive so you can take it to your other devices if they have the ports to take a USB or SD or other storage type card. I'm having trouble with one laptop, but I think its because it is older. I will contact the help desk to see if they can walk me through it. I've used Linksys routers for about 10 years now with no problems.
