Item: 927053 Model: SE2500-NP
The Linksys SE2500 5-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch easily expands your home network at powerful Gigabit speeds of up to 1000 Mbps--10x faster than standard Ethernet. The SE2500 is plug-and-play, so no configuration is required. Simply connect computers, printers, storage, game consoles and other devices and instantly enjoy quick file transfers and media sharing between Gigabit devices. Quality of Service (QoS) traffic prioritization technology automatically optimizes performance for each connected device, so you can enjoy smooth video streaming and gaming. Power-saving features include auto power-down disabling of unused ports, sleep mode when all ports are inactive and smart power for short cable runs.
Build a network that's suitable for use in a small business environment or in the home with this 5-port Gigabit Ethernet switch from Linksys. The switch takes advantage of advanced networking technology to offer up to 1000 Mbps data transmission speeds, allowing the quick exchange of vast amounts of data between connected devices.
Easy Network Creation
The Linksys 5-port Ethernet switch is designed for plug-and-play connectivity. Using the plug-and-play design, you can simply plug an Ethernet cable from a networkable device into an open port on the switch to have the switch configure the network to include the device, adjusting the port speed to the maximum transmission rate that the new device is capable of maintaining. The switch must be connected to a broadband modem or wired router to allow for the addition of a shared Internet source.
Gigabit Network Speeds
Each of the five ports of the Linksys switch is capable of handling data transmission rates of up to 1000 Mbps. This high data-transfer rate can be used for anything from moving data quickly to and from network storage devices to streaming high-definition videos without losing a single frame of the action. The switch is backward compatible, slowing down the data rate as needed to handle devices running at fast Ethernet speeds of 100 Mbps or standard Ethernet speeds of only 10 Mbps.
QoS Traffic Management
To keep data moving briskly through the network, the Linksys switch uses Quality of Service traffic prioritization. With QoS management, data moving through the system is prioritized by data type so that network traffic that can be affected most by congestion is moved through the system quicker than data that can withstand a slight wait or be slowed down in transmission.
