Excellent Router - Easy setup and instal

I set up routers all the time and I use this for my IT business. It is a great router. Only cons were it is a big footprint and no adjustable antenna. The range is great and it was a snap to setup. Replaced a D-Link due to wireless signal dropping out. I prefer Linksys for any networking.

Instructions say to upload new firmwear before using- I called Linksys and tech told me to not even bother with setup CD- he just walked me through the setup-
Compared to companies that make it impossible to talk to a live tech or connect you to a 3rd wolrd service center, this was refreshing...

I attempted to use the supplied disk to set up the unit. However, I first contacted my local ISP, Hargray, and was told to "Throw away the Disk as it will screw up my computer." They then walked me through the set up procedures. After that, it works fine. (No charge from the ISP for the help).

The unit is certainly faster and has a much longer range than the older (five years) Linksys unit I had before.

After I bought it I set it up on my desktop PC using their disk. It ran a self check and said it was working, but it wasn't. We spent two hours on the phone with a tech rep in a foreign country and finally got my daughter's laptop on the wi-fi. After she turned it off and rebooted later she couldn't connect again. The software also messed up my PC. I couldn't go to ANY Internet sites, all I could do was check e-mail. It also effected my security systems, and changed my PC settings. After I did an un-install I had to do a system restore. My AOL was still messed up (I couldn't see images, I couldn't add or send images, I couldn't even insert an emoticon) and I had to "chat" with an AOL tech rep to get that fixed. After speaking with a Staples tech rep I wisely took it back to the store.
