This is the second one I've purchased - 1 for me & 1 for our son's home. Much more dependable and easy to set up than Netgear products. We have a large house, so I also purchased a Linksys repeater (the one with two ant.) to assure seamless connections throughout our home on both levels.

I bought this unit to add wireless capability to a wired home network. Setup was trouble-free. I now have "Good to Excellent" signal strength throughout the first and second floors of my house. I'm very happy with this purchase.

"One Touch" setup... hook it up, press the button and bingo you have a wireless connection. That's what is printed on the box, but it was not to be. After spending two hours and a call to a useless support center in India, I came away frustrated and angry. The computer was an brand new out-of-the-box HP laptop which already was enabled and recognized the Wireless G Access was there. Trouble was the Wireless G Access Point came out of the box in 'secure' mode meaning that I had to enter a 'password' to get access to it. The computer demanded an 8 character password while the default for the Wireless G Access was a 6 character admin access code. Thwarted, okaaaay, then maybe I could get to it through it's default IP address and temporarily disable the 'secure' mode. Thwarted again, because in order to connect the Wireless G Access you must have two LAN connections, one for the Wireless G Access itself and one for the Laptop I was using to gain access to it because the cable modem also has only one LAN connector. The Wireless G Access has ONLY one, so EITHER the Laptop OR Wireless G Access Point can be connected to the internet but NOT at the same time! To get access to it I must connect it through another LAN and access it via a computer there. So NO I am not pleased at all with it. It does everything else it says of that I have no doubt but for someone who is not network savvy, forget the ease of setup, hire someone who can do it for you.

I have used several of these throughout our 2 offices. They are easy to setup by using the enclosed CD with easy step by step instructions. I have had no problems with them.

its a great product but you want to use two of these to extend your network then you need two of the exact same models. it will not work with any other brand. other then that. works great.
