I'm running Comcast 10 mps internet with six computers running nearly all the time. Four are hard line connections and two are wireless. The Linksys adapter functions as fast as any of the hardline connections and I'm very pleased with its perfomance and relative ease of installation. There are a couple of snafus that need discussing. When installing the Linksys on a secure system you'll need your wireless keycode but that's it. The rest of the parameters are detected automatically and entered by the setup program as defaults. I did have to hard wire the Linksys into the router for initial setup as the software program couldn't find it otherwise. The only real downside is that the Linksys is sensitive to distance from the router and I've had to install a booster to increase signal strength. The other wireless computer is pretty old tech but functions well without the booster. With the booster the Linksys works fine. That was another $75 but really only an issue if the router and wireless computer are at opposite ends of the house. Overall I'm pleased and would reccommend this to anyone with at least mid-level computer experience.

I purchased this card to network a PC in one of my bedrooms to my broadband connected Linksys N router. I have an 80+ year old house that is made of very dense materials, including steel-mesh lathe plaster walls on the main floor. It's not the ideal building for wireless networking. The Linksys wireless N products have worked much better than anything else I have tried, in a house where extended-range 802.11g hardware barely worked at all. The connections have been reliable at 54gbps, which is more than enough for sharing an Internet connection and shared printing. Using an 802.11n card and router from the same vendor seems to make a difference. I tried an N card from a different vendor, and it didn't work nearly as well. The Linksys wireless adapter drivers are also the best that I have used, and integrate very well with Windows XP and Windows Vista. It was one of the more expensive cards in the store, but well worth the cost in my situation.
