After purchasing in bulk for my current employer I had to get one for my daughter to use in her college classes. Her biggest complaint was missing parts of lectures trying to write notes. Now she can just make a note to check the recording, it doesn't have to be any more than a single word at the time the professor is speaking and the pen automatically returns to that point in the lecture. Great stuff!

This thing does everything advertised. Perfect for taking and reviewing notes. Only con is the ink cartridge size.

This is great for capturing all of the content from presenters that may speak just a little too fast for those of us who write slower. I am able to capture just the graphics and key points on paper and then the audio accompanies the drawings that I have made.

The ability to quickly search documents for words is a significant plus. I have found myself flipping through 2many pages looking for specific notes and that is no longer the case.

Good business sense should be used when attending meetings that are closed or events that audio should not be recorded. In those cases, the standard pen works great and your notes are synced to the PC, or other sites.

The pen is great for recording notes both audibly and then transferring into my Mac. The desktop software could be a little more intuitive. Then pen feels "cheap" I would rather have it metal, but time will tell how durable it is. I would hate to think dropping it puts me out [$]

I prefer to write and think using pen and paper -- it's still light years ahead of thought tools on a computer. When I found the Livescribe pen I hoped I'd found an answer.

Though the pen is a little bulky, I found it easy to get used to (I'm a fountain pen user, so it wasn't too hard). My favorite feature, though, is the ability to create pencasts, which I use both to provide meeting minutes to my team and to train my team on the fly.

Speaking of the user interface... it's a no-brainer. And many of the apps that you can get for the pen are quite useful. MyScript, for example, does a great job converting my barely legible scrawl into text -- no training required.

Bottom line for me: The Livescribe pen has quickly become indispensable. I look forward to the day when they make something a little slimmer and, perhaps, more colorful.
