This is a must have tool for the individual that has to attend a lot of meetings. This is my second livescribe pen. I have not add any difficulty with them. They are easy to use. My only negative would be that the journals can be a bit pricey. But I understand that you can print your own paper ( I have not tried it). The pen does all that the manufacturer says it does.

Ability to store and search notes on computer is a real plus. Eliminates the need to carry old notebooks around or not have access to information because it is in a notebook left at the office.
Unfortunately, the pen is geared more to students than business people and the abilty to edit the voice recording limits it's use for sharing in a business environment. One inappropriate comment or slip of the tounge during a recording session can prevent the recording from being shared. No way to delete or edit out unwanted comments so an entire recording session can be rendered useless. Phenomenal technology and potential but severely limited by inflexibility of the operating system.

Had an 8GB pen for a couple of years until it fell into a puddle - fried the electronics. No repair options had to buy a new pen. 2 weeks later the diplay stopped working - no repair options. Had to get another under warranty. Warranty service was excellent though a bit drawn out via the internet.

Biggest pain is that you cannot transfer data from one pen to another. Each one has it's own notebook files and a new pen cannot accces data in a notebook from an older disabled or retired pen. Recordings in a notebook are inaccessible(except on the computer)if you start using a new pen that didn't make the original recording.

Good technology that could be being great technology if it wasn't so restrictive in it's use.

The pen helped me organize 15 pages of notes in your notebook,dates and places and times.
