I also own the Logitech VX Nano, which is basically the same mouse. The Anywhere Mouse MX is really an improvement on the VX Nano. It has even smoother tracking - works on more surfaces, and the hyper scrolling is also smoother and more controllable. If you are using a mouse pad anyway, the differences between them are 1. the position of the fwd./back buttons. 2. the Anywhere MX is a bit heavier (uses AAs instead of AAAs). 3. The Anywhere MX has a slightly more distinct click for the 2 primary buttons.
Comfort is fine for me as I do not palm a mouse. The programability is fantastic, having 7 buttons counting the left/right toggle of the scroll wheel.
I use it on a 20" iMac, with the Logitech control Center. The Apple Mighty Mouse that came with it had terribly slow tracking and as you neared the target and slowed down the movement, it was a strain just to get to the spot you wanted to click. Both Logitech mice solved that problem and made computing so much easier! I have it programmed for fwd/back by toggling the scroll wheel, Expose for the center button, and enlarging text for the side button.
I've had this one about a month now, and battery life seems fine like the VX Nano. I expect the batteries to last 4-6 months.

I bought this for my office since I use Excel and Powerpoint extensively. The mouse is nice since it's sensitive and heavy so it's easier to hold. The size is too small since it was designed for laptop use and travel. I did not realize that when I purchased it. My hand end up curling too much and feel strained. Maybe I will get used to it.

Probably the best feature of this mouse is the scroll wheel. It feels heavy and like it's on ball bearings. Scrolling ratchets one step at a time like a conventional scroll mouse, BUT click the mouse wheel, and the ratchet mechanism releases to let the wheel freely and smoothly scroll. And it's so smooth that you can spin the mouse wheel and it will keep scrolling on its own for quite some time.

This is the coolest design feature ever, not to mention the fact that the mouse works on literally every surface, even my spiral bound notebook!

This mouse is one of the best accessories I have for my computers. I also bought a keyboard that uses the Unifying Receiver so that i can put one receiver in my laptop and the other in my desktop. it is very nice having an option on which devices can use that one adapter so you are not using two usb ports or forced to buy a predetermined combo set.

One thing I hadn't realized before I bought it, but now consider one of its best features, is that the scroll-wheel can be switched between smooth spinning and bump-stopped scrolling with a simple click. Now I can spin the wheel quickly to zip through documents, then click and keep it from moving when need be. It's a great feature.
