The highest resolution you can use for Video Chat on Skype, Windows Live Messenger, etc. is 720p, and this Logitech C525 does it very well. Clear, crisp picture, accurate color, reasonable quality in low-light, and a good microphone are all strong points here. Mounting is easily adjustable to fit where you need it; we've used it on top of our 22-inch computer screen, on top of a 50-inch TV, and folded flat to sit on a desk, no problem! You can use it without Logitech's software package and the excellent and stable auto-focus feature still keeps everything sharp & clear. Install the Logitech software and get face-tracking, selectable resolution settings, some cute/funny special effects, and their own free program for video chat called Logitech Vid.

I am disappointed with this product as I have purchased Logitech webcams before. The built-in microphone was not working so my chat buddy could not hear me. I had to pull the USB connection at one point because there was no video. But when it did work the video was very clear, sort of high-quality except for the built-in microphone.

      I mounted this webcam under the sewing arm of a longarm quilting machine to view the bottom of the quilt for quality control of stitching. Works great. The ability to focus as close as 3 inches made this an ideal cam for this application. I would highly recommend this webcam for anyone with a similar desire to have an accurate detailed view an inaccessable area. The autofocus and auto image brightness results in a clear detailed image on screen. I am very safisfied with this purchase.

                Yes, you can attach this to your computer monitor, unless it's an old CRT monitor, just as you would a laptop computer.

                It works with Windows XP (SP2 or higher), Windows Vista or Windows 7 or (32-bit or 64-bit)

                It connects via USB.

                This product cannot be connected to your phone. The microphone is built into this webcam, you would not be able to connect a headset directly into this product.

                The basic method would be to plug in a wired headset/microphone to your computer. If your wireless headset is a Blue-tooth type then you may be able to use it if your computer has a Blue-tooth adapter attached to it. Also, you would need to select the Blue-tooth microphone instead of the webcam's built-in microphone when making a video call. The webcam's built-in microphone is so good you can speak softly or loudly and still get good results.
