Logitech M310 and Invisible Laser

The Logitech M310 comes with a AA battery (it uses only 1 AA) and required no special software to start using right away. I'm sure there may be some special drivers from Logitech that extend the features ... but the default MS XP driver worked just great. One of the nice features of this mouse is the invisible laser. The packaging doesn't mention if this is Logitech's new "Dark Field Laser". One of the advantages here is that a child won't play with the laser and try looking at the laser (because there's nothing to look at). The small receiver is great! The battery cover is awkward. I'd like to take this mouse and combine some of the features in the M305. The M305 is a little smaller (so it travels better) and the battery hatch is more accessible. Both the M310/M305 can store the receiver in the battery compartment (really cool). If the M305 used the Dark Field Laser I would recommend the M305 over the M310. Both mice come with some great colors and designs. Logitech seems to be smarter than a lot of other companies ... for example, the back of that nasty plastic packaging is perforated so you can easily get the mouse out (nice touch). One thing I'd like to see Logitech include with their portable mice is a neoprene mouse case for traveling.

If you don't have to worry about kids and need a more portable mouse, go with the M305.

If you want a cheap and safe mouse to have around kids ... this is a great buy.

Lower cost Logitech wireless mouse (not Bluetooth). Unit works as well as similar styled Logitech costing ten bucks more (which also own and use).

I actually have four Logitech wireless mice for separate desktop and laptop units (PC & OSX) . They are quality products at reasonable prices.

  You can use this wireless mouse on any computer desktop or laptop. Just plug the little transmitter to one of your USB, Install the battery and your computer will automatically will install the driver for it and within couple minutes you should be ready to use. I would assume you are using window based operating system. Good Luck!

  STAPLES ANSWER IS WRONG. IT TRACKS 360 DEGREES. I HAVE HAD MINE SINCE LAST CHRISTMAS. I LOVE IT. GOING TO BUY ONE FOR MY WIFE'S LAPTOP. STILL USING THE SAME BATTERY.
