Pros: My keyboard tray is usually in the shadow, so the illuminated keys work great.
I prefer the lower profile, laptop type, keys.
Has 12 programmable upper keys that actually work.

Cons: It slows down the boot up time for my computer, for some reason.
Would be REALLY nice if it was a compact keyboard. Don't need the number pad.

This is the best keyboard I have used, including the $200-$300 ones that my friend has. Have had this keyboard for several weeks, and there have been no problems at all. The light still works, all the keys still work. Love it!

I purchased this keyboard after trying only the wired version in the store. The Wirless keyboard version was on sale for a cheaper price and so I purchased it thinking that wireless is even better. Unfortunately, when I got home and tried this keyboard, I found that the keyboard was not as slim as the wired version. The keys had much longer travel and were the smaller chicklet-style keys. I found these fisher-price-like keys clackity sounding and of low-quality. Even worse, the battery only lasted two days with less than 10 hours of total use. The wired usb charger would not charge the batteries to reach a level of more than 1 of 3 bars on the indicator, even when left charging overnight. I was looking for a keyboard to replace my high-milage logitech dinovo keyboard, which feels more like a laptop keyboard, which would also incorporate an attached num pad. The illumination was not required but I thought it would be a nice feature to have for evening work. I returned this keyboard for the wired version which elimates all aformentioned issues, is more responsive and tactile like my di novo board, and has completely different keys which have shorter travel and are more tactile than the wireless version. Also, the wrist wrest has a 'rubberized' feel to it and much more comfortable. Being tethered by a wire connection is not a huge inconvenience since I rarely move the keyboard more than 2 feet from the monitor. Certainly worth not having to worry about battery life while I keep illumination on as long and as high-intensity as I enjoy. I type 8-10 hours per day, so battery life and key response is extremely important to me. I remain baffled as to why Logitech did not make their wireless illuminated keyboard simply a wireless version of the wired illuminated keyboard? Yet, after this experience, I think it's a better idea to stick with wired given the illumination feature is inherently going to be a battery nuissance to you no matter how good your battery is (ie, sanyo eneloops,etc..).

Comments about Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800:

Received order on the day promised. No trouble setting up the keyboard but some difficulty syncing the wireless mouse with the Unifying USB stick. I had to insert another Unifying USB for it to recognisde the mouse but it then did not recognise the keyboard. After some trial and error I was able to sync them both with one Unifying USB stick. Connecting the keyboard or mouse for charging was a little tricky. Unless you had the cable at exactly the right angle you could not connect it. Nice touch is the on.off swith on both. Great battery saver. The keyboard light go out to fst if you remove your hands from it. A little longer delay would be nice. I am very please with both.

Excellent soft keyboard

Comments about Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800:

I picked up this keyboard to replace my solar-powered K750, because the area that I was using the keyboard in did not get enough light exposure. The backlight is a very nice touch and helps to illuminate the keys in low lighting, and the fact that the backlight will turn on/off automatically when you touch the keys helps to prevent the keyboard from giving off an annoying glow when it is not in use.

The keys are responsive but do not make much of a "clicky" noise. The touch feedback is soft, not hard, so if you like to bang on your keys, this may not be the right keyboard for you. But for me, the amount of feedback is just right and I appreciate not having to hear the clacking sound when I type, since I am a pretty fast typer.

So far so good!

Comments about Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800:

I purchased this keyboard to replace my (3 year old Logitech) I have a thing about keys that click and whilst it isn't as quiet as my old one it pretty close. One draw back is this doesn't take batteries so you do have to plug it in via the USB to charge it. I was concerned as it has back lit keys and I thought that would drain the charging use. Although I've been using it for a couple of weeks and have been neglectful on turning it off and it's still on 3 bars of charge. The back lit is motion sensor so turns off automatically. It's larger than my old Logitech cordless but all in all a good replacement.

Comments about Logitech Wireless Illuminated Keyboard K800:

I had returned a Microsoft comfort 5000 keyboard for this. I have to say that after using the Microsoft keyboard this Logitech keyboard works flawless. The backlight makes it look cool and the battery stays charged longer than I expected.
