I used this box for a year and always had to jiggle the lock to get it to open. Last night it failed and I could not open it. So, I got a big screw driver and discovered that with only two tries, I was able to pop it open. I was so surprised how easy it was. And I am a 60 year old woman! It's not secure at all!

I returned product because it is very poorly crafted. Even when locked it was possible to open the top and bottom enough so that keys fell out. I would not recommend this product.

  THIS LOCK IS SET TO OPEN AT 000 AT FACTORY
  
  TO CLOSE AND LOCK: TURN THE WHEELS TO ANY OTHER NUMBER AND CLOSE COVER. THIS AUTOMATICALLY LOCKS THE LOCK.
  
  TO OPEN: TURN ALL WHEELS TO 000, WHICH AUTOMATICALLY OPENS LOCK.
  
  PLEASE READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY:
  
  TO SET YOUR COMBINATION:
  1. OPEN LOCK WITH PRESET COMBINATION (000).

  You should be able to use this without using the lock, the lock comes set to 000 and you will need to change the lock to your specification or you can leave it as is and not lock. We do have items that are locked with keys and not combinations such as item # 843698. For specifics please see this item on Staples.com. Thanks
