I bought these bookends to use in my home library. I use one bookend on each shelf that has empty space to keep the books upright. My books are mostly 9 to 10 inches tall, but a few are taller. I have no problem with the bookends supporting the books. I also use two bookends to support 28 books which are 8 inches tall by
1 1/2 inches wide on top of the bookcase. They hold the books in place with no problem. A feature I really like is the non-skid bases.

I use these to hold about 6 thin binders on my desk. As soon as I remove one binder, they all tip into the empty space and the bookends cannot hold them up - all the binders fall over every time I remove one.

Should be sturdier - Binders are small and shouldn't be able to tip the bookends.

Not too much more to say other than it does what is intended.
If I were to nitpick, I'd say the non-stick pad raises the bookmark a couple millimeters, so you won't be easily slide it under objects. The bookmark is also not very eye catching, but it's thin enough that it's fairly unnoticeable.
