      The key lock is stiff and very difficult to operate. I am not always able to open the box, so find it easier to leave it open. I am going to try to exchange it as it may just be a "singular" problem. I love the size of the box, it holds all of my husband's medicines, including one very large bottle and about 8 smaller ones & there is still room for more things.

            This box may be fine for home use but if you are using it to store anything valuable and want to limit accessibility, there is a major design flaw in that the locking hasp has nothing to "catch" on inside the box, so as a result, it just flops back open. It's pretty heavy too, but I imagine that helps with the fire retardant rating.
