If you read the little specs thing, it says you have to use a water-soluble marker, and that's what works. Dry erase does NOT work on these, you have to get wet-erase markers, which work good for our use, shelving. That way, when you accidentally brush one as you're taking an item off the shelf, it won't erase. Good stuff!

Quartet dry-erase markers do not work

Based on a previous review, I ordered this product and Quartet dry erase markers. The previous reviewer was correct that the Expo marker would not erase from this strip; however, the Quartet marker also would not erase. First, tried using a damp cloth as recommended, which took off some but basically left a residue. Next tried erasing, which smeared the marker even more and left a 'black cloud' rendering the strips unusable. Strips were purchased for use on an employee in/out board. We write on strips when we leave the office and erase the message upon return. The only pro was that the strips did adhere well to the magnetic board and a P-touch label does stick to them. Unfortunately, since we already had smaller strips with employee name labels on them, these strips were a waste of money for us.
