Comments about Martin Yale Stackable Monitor Riser, Gray:

This is a good quality stand; its sturdy design easily holds my heavy, old-school monitor. I needed something to elevate my monitor just a few inches, with storage space below it, that would be made of metal, rather than plastic. This stand has all that, so it works for me.

However, there are some aesthetic issues that may deter some buyers. First of all, it is a light grey color, which won't match most modern monitors. It may be okay for some of the older ones it was clearly designed for, but it doesn't match mine. There are also a lot of pock marks covering the paint, which I'm guessing are from air bubbles, so it doesn't have a smooth look (up close); this could be an aberration that doesn't normally occur. The paint, however, does completely cover the metal, with no exposed areas. Additionally, there is a hole on the top of the stand at each corner, which I couldn't see in the online image; these are for stacking another stand on top. Nothing is provided to cover them, so I will probably use some decorative stickers.

The stand comes with 4 strips of rubber material to wrap on the bottom of the side legs. These cover metal protrusions which would sit in the holes of a stand it would be stacked upon. You must use these strips to protect your desk top from the metal protrusions. They seem to work fine.

I gave this stand 4 out of 5 stars because it is of good quality, but it does have those aesthetic issues, and is somewhat expensive for what it is. I recommend buying this at a discount, rather than at full price.
