I buy these when there on sale and they always go on sale when i need them they are good everything for the price and you can't beat it definately good for the budget watcher

I am an avid recorder of home movies, transfering from taoes and such, and I use around 100 DVD R's every other month. I have had very good success with HP, Memorex, Store brands, and Sony DVD R's.
When I saw these on sale I figured I'd give them a try. The failure rate, even when the record speed was reduced to 8X was at 33%. One in three had an error during the Laser OPC stage, This on three seperate PC's and my Samsung DVD recorder. I had never seen this error before. I tried to contact Memorex, Now part of Imation - numerous times by phone, but couldn't reach anybody that spoke Ledgible English or that cared at all. Finally I got a supervisor that said It was me, and he would send me an email.(Huh?)I Went back to the remainder of my "OLD" Gold colored Memorex DVD R's (I am guessing they're NOT made by Imation, with the Old Memorex logo), and had no trouble period. These new ones are junk, and the company CLEARLY don't care, don't give Imation your money. These really ARE that bad.

Bought these on sale, would not purchase again. Many were off balance and would vibrate during startup. I probably scrapped 15 to 20 for being off balance and would not risk damaging my burner. Several that seemed to burn OK also had vibrations when played. Of the others, a few had registration problems before burning and several would not register at all. The DVDs were rated at 1X to 16X, I normally burn video DVDs at 4X to get a deeper burn so that they can be played with fewer or no retries on older DVD players but several of the DVDs would only register at 8X. They seemed to burn OK at 8X but a few had playback problems so I replaced them with DVDs burned at 4X. Of the other remaining DVDs, which were all burned at 4X, at least ten that I know of had playback problems when played on older DVD players and had to be replaced. I would not purchase again even if they were on sale at a good price.
