You will love or hate them.

My desktop burner (which has never failed a single-layer DVD or CD) has about a 25% success rate with these. My laptop DVD burner (which are generally less reliable than desktop burners) turns these out perfectly every time.

You'll either be very pleased or very unhappy with these discs, and it will be based on your own hardware.

Since there aren't a lot of good options for double layer DVDs on the market, and these memorex brand ones are some of the cheapest and most widely available, you should give them a shot. If your burner fails the first and/or second one, just save the discs and return them to the place of purchase.

As always, make sure to use a burning program with data verification.

I am burning backup disks with Roxio Business, about 1/2 of the disks fail to complete. The problems exists on multiple PCs, so it is not the hardware. One PC (a laptop) has no problem with the disks, so it appears that the media is "picky" about the hardware used to burn. Once burnt, no system had a problem reading it.

Not sure if the problem is just this particular batch that I purchased, but a lot of the discs are either scratched and unrecordable. Some of the ones that I recorded TV shows would play erratically, freeze or won't play at all. This batch had poor quality discs packaged in it. Very unhappy with this purchase, especially for the price I paid. Most likely will switch brands.

  To take advantage of dual layer technology when recording DVDs, you must use a dual layer enabled DVD burner and dual layer DVD media. Dual layer technology media can be read (once recorded) by most DVD drives and players currently on the market. This is written as DVD+R DL or DVD-R DL on recordable DVD media and hardware packaging.   The main difference is the way information is written to the discs. Most drives and burners will support both. There are some DVD drives and burners that will only use one or the other. This information can be found on the box or owner's manual of your drive or burner.
