I spend a lot of time converting VHS videos onto DVDs and since some of these tapes are several hours long I needed a recordable that could handle the load. These DVD+R disks can handle around four hours of media. Before you buy these little gems you better check your unit to make sure it can handle this type of disk.

As I stated, these work great, but are way too expensive. [$] for 5 discs means they are [$] each. I realize they come with cases, but I didn't even need the cases. Why not give the option of purchasing without the cases so it's cheaper? The only reason I got them at staples was it was the closest place to me that had them. Maybe if they sold a larger amount at once, they could charge less per disc (i.e.-most places sell them in 20 packs or larger for between $25 and $30). I later found I could purchase these from [@] much cheaper as I got a 20-pack of verbatim discs for $25 with free shipping online. Make them cheaper and you will have a customer for life!

I needed a recordable DVD that would hold more than 1 hour of video. The only way was with this product for my system. This was perfect for the task. The local Staples store had it in stock which allowed me to complete the job today.

I purchased this product because of its larger storage capacity.....(almost double an average disk). I needed to transfer a very large file and wanted it to be copied to a single disk. I am very pleased. It transferred quickly and accurately. I would definately recommend this product.

  Steve, i know this is from July but for anyone else who's curious... Only dvd burners with Double Layer DL DVD R Media compatibility are able to burn the Double Layer Media. If your dvd burner does not have the capabilities, it is possible to be upgraded to burn Double Layer media. Check with your burner manufacturer for details on their respected site. Then you'll have to flash your rom drive :)
