Comments about Memorex™ Matte CD Labels, 120/Pack:

We recently started offering our clients a copy of their tax returns on disc so that they wouldn't have to worry about all of the paper or scanning it themselves if they ever needed a copy to send to someone. We started off by simply printing out address size labels and putting them on the disc to allow the clients easy identification. I wanted to offer our clients something that was more professional looking and I wanted to add our logo in color to the disc. So I searched Staples.com for CD labels - I wanted something that I could quickly and easily format in Microsoft Word. Most of the CD Labels came with and/or required their own software in order to format them correctly. When I was purchasing them I considered this a hassle and did not want to have to worry about adding an additional program to my computer or learning how to use it. Well hindsight is always 20/20 because even though it says on the package that there is a Word template available I was unable to find it and I searched the web over including the Microsoft and Memorex website. Before we start filing all of our extensions I am definitely going to purchase a different product that comes with it's own software - saving $5 isn't worth it when it then takes you four times as long to get it printed correctly. Also the labels do not have any blocker, I was printing simple color text with our company logo but left the background white, well you could see the lines that are on the front of the CD through the label once it was put on.

My husband has used these for years. He does a lot of videoing at churches, or at family/friend events (parties, recitals, graduations, weddings, etc), and prints his own labels.
We have gone through many, many packages of these labels, and these are the only brand he will buy.

The labels have tiny perforations that let you select a small hole or big hole. When you pull the label away from the page, you select which hole you want. I always use the small hole option, which covers the whole disk except the dime-sized hole in the middle.

This label can do both, what I like about it is that it has the big hole and the little one, you can use 1 or the other...save to print somethingelse. Also it has spine labels and a couple of square labels on each sheet - it is a money saver.

You "Can" use the Label with just the small hole removed, but I have recieved reports that the CDs will not play in some CD players unless both inner and outer hole is removed.

I bought the kit initially and use the little label stomper that came with it for ease in applying the labels. However, a friend said she just puts the label over the spindle of her stack of new CDs or DVDs and slides the burned disc right over it and they line up perfectly.

NO. I use them on an epson inkjet printer. My buddy uses an HP inkjet printer. If you have a kit it is so easy to attach
them to the disc. Read the package for more information.

I print them on an HP C4280 and have printed them on older HP printers. I have some problems lining up the blanks with the images I create using Expressit S.E. 2.2, but for my use it is ok and I make other labels with the leftovers. I apply the disc labels by hand, just eyeballing the spindle hole. Of course if I take out the larger center of the label it is easier to affix.

The labels can be used with any printer. The only reason you need a kit is to place the CD Labels on the actual CD. A CD Stomper makes it easy, but is not required.

I print on Epson printers and select Enhanced Matte setting in my printer profile and turn off High speed printing. I also make Photoshop control the colors, not my printer, and I get great looking color in my photos on these labels.

when you down load the soft wear there is a bunch of different manufactures and you select the one for Memorex. I use to use Staples before I switched. Once in a while the label paper is not in the tray properly and the print will then be off so make sure its in properly
