The specs for the laptop indicated unbuffered, non-ECC memory. The system didn't boot when the memory was installed. The service tech said that the memory was buffered and that's why it didn't work. The online description and product packaging doesn't indicate whether it is buffered or non-buffered, and I'm not sure the tech knows what he is talking about.
