My husband travels alot. When he suggested a hotel safe for my daughter's dorm room I thought he had lost his mind and could not imagine where I would get one. I googled "hotel safe" found Staples and could not be more satisfied. Several of my friends have ordered it also for their kids in college. We secured ours to the bed (placed it under) with a strong bicycle cable. This is absolutely the best investment I have made in a long time. With the price of laptops, IPods, Blackberry phones all so high, the cost to protect them was just a drop in the bucket. This should be on every college's list of things for the freshmen to buy. We were told that most theft's at college were "crimes of convenience" so the weight of the safe and cable certainly makes this much less likely to be taken on a whim. And because my daughter forgets everything my husband is the master of the safe and she can set her code every day if she wants too (because of it being a hotel safe) and if need be he can help her get into it from a distance. Great product. You should use this in advertising.

I returned the first safe because it kept becoming unable to open. I replaced the batteries monthly then every two weeks, then it failed to turn "on". The replacement safe failed within 6 months.
