Great mouse - install software!

My daughter was not impressed with this mouse initially. The fit, style, and design are great, but she was having trouble with the pointer speed. She adjusted it in Windows to the lowest setting, and the pointer was still unmanageable. I kept telling her to install Intellipoint as the directions stated, and she finally reluctantly did so. Eureka! The software gave her all the control she needed and a nice set of extra features. Neither of us is a fan of the current mini-mouse trend - this mouse is comfortably large and with a high enough profile to prevent hand fatigue, and yes, she uses it exclusively with her laptop. A great mouse for a bargain price.

Okay, but...

The scroll wheel does not have clicks, it freewheels and is hard to make limited accurate movements during design work. Also, with the software, there would be a regular intermittant screen blip. I read the same in another review and the statement was you can use basic features without the software,I removed it and the screen does not blink any more but can't have side wheel or addition buttons function...should have bought a different mouse.

After plugging this mouse into my system, I find if I leave my computer for only a minute or two, my screen goes black, then to my start page. I must then click onto my name or picture to get my page back. It has become a pain in the butt.
