High-Definition Capability
The LifeCam HD-6000 notebook webcam is capable of high-definition video capture and transmission, streaming a constant video with a resolution of 720p at frame rates of up to 30 frames per second. The high resolution and frame rate give you a smooth, detailed image that's capable of a 16:9 widescreen ratio to capture a larger portion of your image and background for saving to your hard drive or transmission over a network. For even more detail, you can upgrade to the Microsoft LifeCam Studio webcam, which is capable of capturing and transmitting video at a resolution of up to 1080p.

Auto Focus
The LifeCam is capable of auto focus, allowing the camera to keep your image in focus no matter how close you come to the lens or the suddenness of the movements you make while within the camera's image capture area. In addition, the camera automatically adjusts the amount of exposure for the lens to maintain bright and vibrant colors.

Notebook Design
The Microsoft LifeCam webcam features a clip-on notebook design that secures it to the notebook's screen for hands-free use. The lens can be rotated halfway around the base of the webcam in both directions, allowing the user to direct the video toward any point in a 360-degree radius to capture video from any direction desired.

Microphone Included
The LifeCam contains a built-in microphone for convenience. The microphone is unidirectional, allowing you to capture audio from throughout the immediate area. It also has acoustic noise-canceling capability to keep captured audio sounding crystal-clear.

Very nice cam for the price. You can tell the difference between 720P and standard def. I bought it as a toy but I can see myself actually using more that I thought. I wish it had an option to use on a standard LCD desktop monitor. That would have been nice. Believe it or not, not all current laptops (Even 17" ones) can do 720P. This is where you might come across some video quality issues at lower resolutions. At 720P, this shines. Windows 7 automatically downloads and installs the software so you do not need the included CD. Trying to jerry-rig it to fit on top of my 25" LCD monitor.

The auto-focus of this camera is so sensitive that doesn't stop to trying to focus every 5 seconds. Contacted microsoft and they don't have a fix but disabling the auto focus, which I have to disable the True Color settings. Without theses options to be used, this camera is no diferent than a $9.99 webcam. Returned mine.

    I really like this product for my laptop. It is very compact, even coming with a shortened cord, and clips nicely on the top of the screen. An additional feature is that it comes with a little carrying case so it does not get all scratched up in my laptop bag. I just had to plug it in and start using Skype. Note, however, that it is a basic webcam, so if you are looking for a lot of fun image editing software, the ability to zoom easily, or if you plan on using it on your desktop, you might want to check out the other webcams.

      This is one of many camera I have tried and it's rating is above average. Done what is should do right out of the box and stays consistant with the correct drivers. Nice clean image better if you have a LED monitor. If you have windows eight the software will find the hardware right away and you may not even have to use the disk to pickup the drivers. Image is steady and motion is not a problem for instant focus. You can use it for still pictures also but best used for skype, google plus or yahoo for instant mesenger type interaction.

        I needed a way to add a picture to my client files and this camara was the answer. I am able to snap a clear picture and attach it to the file on my program. I also like the fact that it is attachable to the computer and not a separtate piece of equiptment to keep up with. The quality of the picture is good and I can even video the conversation or interview for later review. The device is also easy to use as it has a simple easy to read instructions and not a novel to read on how to use; simple click of a button and you are done.
