Very nice cam for the price. You can tell the difference between 720P and standard def. I bought it as a toy but I can see myself actually using more that I thought. I wish it had an option to use on a standard LCD desktop monitor. That would have been nice. Believe it or not, not all current laptops (Even 17" ones) can do 720P. This is where you might come across some video quality issues at lower resolutions. At 720P, this shines. Windows 7 automatically downloads and installs the software so you do not need the included CD. Trying to jerry-rig it to fit on top of my 25" LCD monitor.

The auto focus is a pain for viewers.

When someone who is talking to you sees you move, you become unfocused for a bit until the camara refocuses.Lag time is disturbing to contacts. They always say-whats going on with your camara.

        CD was useless. Required internet connection to load more recent software (Why include the CD?) Then required load of Silverlight, Microsoft Media environment junk - was on the road and just wanted a quick web can, wasted an hour loading software then went out and bought a logitech that worked in 5 minutes. When will Microsoft learn that the hassle of installing features I didn't ask for just creates trouble. BTW you would think if you made both the OS (Win 7) and the camera you could make them work together.

                I looked around the Internet for an CPU equivalency chart, but could not find any that I could understand. Any suggestions?

                I bought my daughter a laptop in 2006 (from Staples) that has an AMD Turion 64 Mobile Tech ML-32, 1.79 GHz with 896 MB RAM. Is that enough to handle this webcam?

                If not, will more RAM or over-clocking the CPU make a difference?
