Noticeable Improvement from 2007

As a professor at a top business school in the U.S., I needed something that can handle compatibility mode from older office products plus have the video and graphic features to add "pizzaz" to Word and PowerPoint documents. I also needed the mobility to go from home to office to travelling computer and the latest One Note does the trick. I did "road test" the Beta version and, in the production version, MS seemed to fix the glitches I saw. This is an intuitive product and worth the cost. Having Outlook as part of the package (over the Student and Academic version) was a good investment for me and my family. However, unless MS puts it back in as part of the Student and Academic version the next time, they will lose customers in droves. My students already use Facebook and other social networking sites to stay in touch, Outlook doesn't appear on student cell phones, and most students also use Gmail so I doubt Outlook has long to live, especially if MS adds it at a higher price. Maybe MS is catering only to businesses who use Blackberries and Microsoft Server. Don't worry, Microsoft, when students get into business in a few years (especially IS students), they'll be putting pressure on their companies to go to Gmail and Androids and Outlook will be irrelevant. Too bad, too, since Outlook used to be the email client of choice. You don't seem to be looking far enough ahead, Microsoft.

Don't be fooled like me reading the box

On the back of the box, the small print (*) states that you can use the product on three machines. However, I later found out that the small print applied to another Office...Read complete review

On the back of the box, the small print (*) states that you can use the product on three machines. However, I later found out that the small print applied to another Office 2010 product, the Home and Student version. On this, the more expensive version, you can only use it on two machines. Oddly, nowhere else on the box does it state the number of licenses permitted for this product. I hope this comment saves someone else from being fooled.

Bought product mainly for email. But will use Word and Excel as my husband is a CPA and has a small practice in our home and I assist him during tax season. Outlook is more than I expected and am eager to learn as much about it as I can. The product was easy to download on our two laptops and wish you could download on 4 computers inside of 2 as we both have desk computers for a total of 4 in our home.

Staples stepped up to the plate on this deal. This product is way overpriced at [$] for just three machines. I was able to get it much cheaper with their daily specials, coupon and a rewards coupon. Otherwise I would not have paid suggested price from Microsoft. At best this Application is work $150.00 for three licenses, no more. So shop around.
