Perfect for home use. I used to use the free OpenOffice, but it had some cpmatibility problems with heavily formatted documents and presentations. The only answer was to go to MS Office, or have everyone else in the world switch to OpenOffice.

Per license, the cost for Office Home & Student is ideal. It has no problems opening or saving documents from earlier versions of Office.

The interface took some getting used to. I was accustomed to the Office 2003 style interface. After a week of use, though, I find the new "ribbon" interface is more efficient than the old interface. Give it time, and I think everyone would learn that it is indeed a good interface.

My favorite part of the suite is OneNote. You can use it like a fancy clipboard, but it is much more powerful and useful.

For the price, you can't go wrong with Office Home & Student.

Comments about Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 (Boxed CD):

A standard load wipes out a valid version of Outlook. Outlook is NOT included in this package. No planner or address book is included so when it wiped out a valid program the existing address book was removed.

Comments about Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 (Boxed CD):

The installation erased my Outlook 2003 on one of my computers. It contained my wife's entire contact list. I wanted to keep this application, yet there was no indication that it would be eliminated. The features I saw on Excel appeared to be more cute than functional. I cannot install it on one of my computers because there was an issue with Office 2003. This is the first time I found this when I upgraded any product from anyone.
I don't think the product is ready for prime time.

I bought one product, but the creeps at Microsoft had installed another as a "trial" and it messed everything up so that I can't recover the things that the "trial" erased -- unless I give them another $150! Microsoft should be ashamed of themselves and so should Staples for bilking people with this product.

When the 30 trial period ended this program denied me access to my working, older versions of Outlook and Publisher. This is sneaky and disgusting forcing me to get another email program and ending my use of Publisher.

When this software would not load, the company wanted to blame the hardware. Finally after several phone calls (the last representative was very good) and several hours, the software was finally loaded.
