I'm a long-time user of Microsoft's Natural Keyboards. I think the shape of those keyboards is great for a touch typist. My only complaint with them was that they were noisy.

The Sculpt Ergonomic keyboard maintains the overall shape, but has Chiclet style keys. I wondered if there would be enough feedback and travel with these keys and I can report that there is. And the best part is how much quieter the keyboard is. The space bar is split on this keyboard as well, which is an improvement over the Natural keyboard.

The mouse in this set looks a little weird, but I find it very comfortable. I have large hands (wear L gloves) and I find this mouse big enough so my hand doesn't feel cramped when using it. The browser back button under the thumb is a little hard to actuate. I think it could be designed a little better.

The separated keypad was odd, but whatever. I use the numeric keypad for some things. It died after the first 2 weeks of use, but it was only a battery that needed replacing. I bought a name brand coin battery replacement and hope that will last longer.

One last advantage I would list for this set is that it only takes one USB port for keyboard and mouse. Bluetooth might have been an option, but I've found Bluetooth devices to drain batteries faster and these USB transceivers not so much.

I'm happy with my purchase and am clicking away (silently).

I wanted to love this keyboard, but I had to return it.
    Pros:
    - Very comfortable ergonomic design. The downward slant allow wrists to sit in a natural position. I did notice my wrists are not are sore at the end of the day.
    - Easy set up
    - The separate numeric pad allows for fast numeric data entry
    Cons:
This keyboard has flat "low profile" keys. I tend to keep my nails medium to long, because of the flat keys, I found it difficult to type. I also found that I was having a hard time "sensing" if I pressed the key hard enough for the letter to register. This made for numerous typos and skipped letters.

Having said this, I purchased "Microsoft Natural Ergonomic 4000 Keyboard" as a replacement and I'm again having a love/hate relationship with this keyboard as well. I am finding that once again the keys are a little to firm for my taste. I find that I have to press down way too hard for the keys to register. The space bar is especially stiff. I truly believe that this has to do with my nail length and I would like this keyboard if I had short nails & if the keys were not so stiff.

    Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic combo

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop Keyboard Combo:

I purchased the desktop keyboard and mouse combo because I've been having pain in my hands from working with a computer many hours per day, especially my "mouse" hand. I love the mouse, but I'm still having a hard time adjusting to the keyboard. I've used a traditional typewriter and computer keyboard for about 38 years so it's a big adjustment. The keyboard is really slowing me down and I'm making a lot more typos. I am a real estate appraiser and use the number keys almost as much as the letter keys. Having the number keypad separate is a little awkward for me, having a hard time finding just the right spot on my desk for the mouse and number pad. If you already use an ergonomic keyboard, you will most like be pleased. Hopefully, I will adjust soon too.

    ergonomics

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop Keyboard Combo:

I've had an ergonic keyboard in the past but this one seems to be more extreme. This is going to take some getting used to. My most frequenty used keys are not as conveniently placed but then again as mentioned this keyboard will take some adjustment on my part. I do like the size of the keyboard as it fits in to the allowed space. I don't use the mouse as I prefer a tracball, nor do I use the separete keypad which is one reason I purhased this keyboard. I do like the softtouch keys and the wireless feature..I might consider a different keyboard if I were to shop again. Recieved 2 sets of foreign language instructions instead of one foreign and one English.

Maybe the best keyboard I have ever had.

Comments about Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Desktop Keyboard Combo:

Can't say enough about this keyboard combo. Very comfortable. I like the separate 10 key as I don't always need it and doesn't get in the way of the normal keyboard. I am thinking that I have had this for about a year and I don't think I have changed the batteries in any of the components!

Only negative is that the usb dongle does not like usb 3.0 much.

Takes some getting used to, but I love the size and the fact that it is wireless.
The numberpad is seperate which i like very much. The roundness of the mouse is unique, it fits right into the ball of your hand.
