I use Microsoft Streets & Trips since 2006, and I really like it. Also, I am used to it. I think the 2008 was the best version so far. I just bought 2009, but still like 2008 better. I don't like some of the new changes they made to the program. On of those is luck of many pushpins that were there before. Also I like the old sensor better. The only reason I bought new version is because it has upgrated new addresses, etc.

I have used MS Streets and Trips for years and think it is a great product. I bought S&T 2010 GPS for my new laptop with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. Before buying it I checked the Microsoft web site http://www.microsoft[@] for compatibility. The web site says it is compatible with Windows 7 but is not compatible with 64-bit versions of Windows XP or Server 2003. It says nothing about not being compatible with Win 7 64-bit. Only after I buy and install it do I discover the GPS will not work. I am very disappointed. You would think Microsoft products could work with each other or that the product web site would tell you about it. The version of S&T I bought has the Navation 168 GPS USB module. When will Microsoft have drivers available for Win 7 64 so I can use the software I purchased?

Comments about Microsoft Streets & Trips with GPS Locator:

Irritating to use: must move map to focus point EVERY time you zoom in or out. Speed options are totally useless, ("faster or slower" than what?)' Type of road choice is equally useless - only "fastest or shortest"; no choice for a specific road, such as "Use or Avoid Turnpike", etc. No way to insert a note or name a stop along the route to facilitate identification (such as Post Office, or RV camp). There is no column showing milage between points, so you have to do your own adding and subtracting. There is no line indicating a change of time zone in long distance travel. Finally, the Points of Interest list focuses on Restaurants heavily with very limited other information. You had better get your own addresses for "places of interest".

Comments about Microsoft Streets & Trips with GPS Locator:

Took forever to connect to satellites. Thought the GPS unit was not working. Eventually purchased a quality USB cable and grabbed 8-11 satellites right away. Then the stick GPS did fail and got it replaced. Works fine but with a lot of hair pulling.

Use it for planning trips to San Antonio. It will find the cheapest gas along route, best hotel prices and coupons of local establishments. It is hard to get used to but once you get the hang of it, it is very nice to use.
