Comments about Microsoft Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse 6000:

I've been using Logitech for a while and was very happy with it. When the last one broke after maybe 3 yrs, I asked my husband to pick me up a cordless mouse and he got me this Microsoft Notebook Laser Mouse 6000. It was pricey but I was willing to give it a try. This mouse does not tell you when battery is low unlike the cheaper Logitech model. Less than a year later, the accuracy is starting to act up. I am going back to Logitech. Actually after having many cordless mice for years, I am going back to corded mouse since it is better for the environment. I do not recommend this mouse.

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse 6000:

This mouse is basically unreliable. I bought one it only lasted about 8 months then the left button stopped working, I called Microsoft and they sent me a new one and now 6 months late i'm having the same problem. These things just dont last long. Also it doesnt work on glass surfaces.

On the upside it is very comfortable and I like the zoom button.

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse 6000:

I have 2 of these - one for laptop, other for desktop - and enjoy using them in either location. When my hands get tired, I can use many of the functions while holding the mouse in mid-air, my hand in its neutral position. I resest the magnifying button to "back" which I find more useful.

Maddening - only works sometimes
By RedVerified Reviewer from Davis, CA on 6/18/2008
Pros:
Has buttons, Is mouse-shaped
Cons:
Catches Easily, Laser light stops working, Limited Surface Compatibility, Randomly stops working, Receiver sticks out 4 in, Sucks up battery power
Describe Yourself:
Power user
Primary use:
Business
Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse 6000:

I am slammed at work but am pausing here to flame this mouse b/c it's so ill designed. The USB receiver sticks out about 4 inches so I have to unplug it each time I put away my laptop - for fear the port will get mangled. When you're working with it, in the middle of a work session it stops responding. Fresh battery, proper surface. Just no response. Bad mouse.

A bit too small for my liking

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse 6000:

I returned it and stayed with the logitech brand. This Microsoft mouse felt too small and therefore uncomfortable within my grips. Because of its size, I kept hitting the left and right mouse keys when I did not want to and double clicking seems like a chore even after adjusting the settings. Logitech has small mice too, but feel proper and work perfectly. I now own two wireless and bluetooth logitech mice and could not be happier.

Okay, but major problems

Catches Easily

Primary use:

Bottom Line:

Comments about Microsoft Wireless Laser Notebook Mouse 6000:

It works okay, but it seems like I'm having to push the little "connect" button on the bottom several times a day (it will start acting all funky randomly).

Also, the scroller wheel in the middle on my mouse catches on the outer casing of the mouse. This makes it unpredictable and therefore quite useless.

However, I have friends with the same mouse and they have not had any problems.

It tracks as accurately as any mouse (although the stock settings should be adjusted).
