Could have been a winner

Unfortunately there were a coupe of issues that I simply could not live with. Firstly, the side buttons are rather poorly placed (too high and too forward) which makes them difficult to access without having to let go of the mouse so you can reposition your fingers. The deal breaker, however, is the scroll wheel. It spins freely with nary no resistance or click that can be discerned. While this might at first sound like a good thing, I soon discovered the shortfall of this design. When attempting to view photos in irfanview (insert your favorite photo viewing software), the free-spinning wheel is way too sensitive, causing you to skip every other photo in the folder. If the wheel "clicked" when you rotated it (like it should), this would not happen. I probably could have overlooked everything else. It's going back to Staples tomorrow.

NOT A BAD MOUSE. DEFFINETLY FOR NOTEBOOK OR SMALL HANDS. SCOLL WHEEL CLICKING BUTTON DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK ON THIS ITEM. HAVE TO CLICK SEVERAL TIMES TO GET IT TO WORK THE WAY I NEEDED IT TO WORK. IT SLOWED ME DOWN SO I FINALLY HAD TO RETURN IT.

Could not get battery compartment open. No instructions but a vague graphic on box - tried for 20 minutes but didn't want to force or break unit so I finally gave up and returned it. Instructiions (on box)printed in Malayasia, probably written there as well. If your first interface with the unit is so bad - why go on?

Screen continues to scroll up or down when hand is off the mouse. Side buttons are placed to far back, have to move hand to use. Returned the mouse to store and purchased a Logitech LX8, much better.
