      This radio works great on batteries and wind up power, but the converter cord is awful and doesn't work after the third week. What a waste of money.

            Charger stopped charging the rechargeable battery...then won't work on AC/DC charge at all...needs AA batteries to work...or a new rechargable one.

              This is a followup review on the two (2) Midland ER102 that I purchased from Staples; the sale transaction was excellent along with their speedy UPS delivery. I purchased two as a gift to grand children who are Boy Scouts. After the initial charge of the internal battery, all of the features are working so far. Using the ac/dynamo mode, the sound is clear for the FM, AM, and WX radio broadcasts; the flashlight works and the radio gives the outside temperature and local time. All the alarms and warnings work. So far so good; I am more than satisfied with the Midland ER102 and so far works as advertised with no problems so far.

                So far I have started the initial charge, but I expect the two units to work as advertised. The two units are gifts for my grand children who are Boy Scouts that participate in all types of outdoor activities. The Midland ER-102 Radios are a welcomed emergency capability to have at any time to survive unexpected extreme weather challenges.
