    What type of FCC license is required and what is the charge.

    • A:

      A license is required by the FCC to operate these radios on GMRS channels which include 1-7 or 15-22. The license form required for GMRS can be received by filling out form 605, available at www.fcc.gov. The fee currently includes an application fee ($60) and a regulatory fee ($25 per call sign). A license is valid for 5 years.

      Yes; You can use as many radios in your group that you need. They all need to be connected to the same channel to work together.
