Comments about Monster Power® To Go® 3-Outlet Power Strip With 1' Cord:

I'm a guitarist. My pedalboard is compact and powerful, but sometimes I need to add an extra effect or two. Plug this into the back of my PP2+ and I'm good. The only thing I would like to see changed is either the angle of the plug itself or, better yet, a swivel to it. It would make the connection easier.

Comments about Monster Power® To Go® 3-Outlet Power Strip With 1' Cord:

This small power strip simply adds the capability to charge three portable devices from a single outlet which unfortunately is still too comon in inexpensive hotel/motels. For travel in Europe it allows me to get by with only one US to Europe adapter.

Comments about Monster Power® To Go® 3-Outlet Power Strip With 1' Cord:

I travel often. This power strip suits my needs perfectly. I was unsure about whether this adapter would handle 100-240v (due to the packaging stating designed for 125v) and couldn't find any info online. I emailed customer service and asked the question and received the following response in an hour. Great service guys !!

"Our Outlets To Go were designed for international use and can handle 100-240V. The USB outlets can also be used. Be advised that the USB ports can only charge devices that require up to 1 amp.

          Monsterously!!!

          Customer Support"

          Hope this helps someone else.

Comments about Monster Power® To Go® 3-Outlet Power Strip With 1' Cord:

well, it does what it says it does, so i can't ask for more than that. shortest review ever. however if monster were to revise the design, i'd definitely love it more if the blue led in the socket wasn't so prominent, and the wall plug wasn't defaulted leading out to the left. if i'm trying to sleep in a hotel room, the last thing i wanna see is a bright blue led. ok, so it's not THAT bright, but still, kind of unnecessary. old school strips you barely noticed the led was lit, i'm sure someone makes a low-lumen blue led. i'd also like to know who thought it was a good idea to lead the triple-wired exit cable to the left of the wall plug. while it will do for the most part, what am i supposed to do if i can't go that way? sure i can just curve the cable around, but then i lose what short length it already had. 180 degree rotating wall plug, please. if at all possible 270 would be even better, for if i had to stretch it from an outlet up and towards say, the desk. while we're at it, i don't see a reason to only have a single usb charge port in this day and age, or even only 3 outlets for the form factor and the msrp price for it. add more outlets, make those rotatable, and it solves most transformer tetris problems except large box plugs. which are uncommon these days since manufacturers figured out it was better to separate the brick from the actual socket. do all that, and i'll gladly pick up a new one. can i get a full-sized one that's also packable like this too?

i know it all sounds negative, but this does exactly what's intended, and other than the right angle thing bugging ME, it's a top notch product

Comments about Monster Power® To Go® 3-Outlet Power Strip With 1' Cord:

Let me clarify... the pictured item above is the three plug power strip. However, I got this item bundled with a power plug adaptor by the same company in a package that implied that it was designed for overseas travel.... however, the combination is not designed to work together.

I received this as a gift from my wife on Christmas who saw excellent reviews of this product on the web. We travel overseas as often as possible and take several trusted voltage pin adapters and voltage converters with us when we travel. She thought that this would be a better product.
What we got were two independent products packaged so that it appears that it is for overseas travel. The documentation is virtually non-existent, and while I have been interested and involved with electronics for over 50 years, I am not sure that I understand what this product does or why it is packaged together. What we got in one package was a plug adapter and a power strip. Many countries in the world use their own unique plug configurations and the one unit, in one unit, has adaptors that can be moved in and out to conform to the standards you need in various countries and also give you plug compatibility from the country that is your home base. However, the adaptor says clearly that altough it is designed to accept 100 - 240 VAC line voltages, it also clearly says "This adaptor does not convert voltages". That means that if the source is 220 VAC then what is available in the plugs for your device is also going to be 220 VAC. That means that you can switch your stateside hair drier into 220 VAC mode and plug it into the plug and plug the unit into one of Europe's 220 VAC receptacles. But you CANNOT PLUG A 110 VAC appliance into it because it does not convert the voltage and you will be putting 220 VAC into your appliance. Most computers are now designed to work worldwide and designed to work on 110 or 220 VAC at 50 to 60 Hz so most computers will work well plugged in. But the issue is the appliance that you plug into this adaptor must be able to work with the voltage available in the country. If it is not designed for that voltage, you are going to get a "fried" appliance.
What is strange about this is that packaged into this same package is a three outlet power stip along with a USB connecctor, and all logic would indicate that these two units (the strip and the adaptor) are designed to work together. However, the three outlet power adaptor clearly says on its bottom surface that it is designed to work with "125 VAC - 60 Hz" systems. That means that it is not designed to convert voltage and if plugged into the above adaptor, and in countries that use 220 VAC, you will be putting twice the voltage into the power strip that is designed to "see". Although I dont know this because there is no documentation enclosed, I would guess that if you do this, you will blow out all the electronics associated with the USB device and probably damage whatever USB device you plug into it. Now, that is my guess, but I have not tried it, because I am not willing to risk blowing the power strip or my iPOD.
Its almost as though these are two separate products that have little to do with each other that were none-the-less, jammed together into one package.
If you plan to use both oversears, you are going to need these two products, and a voltage converter when you are in a 220 VAC country... 1.) the adaptor to fit with the wall plug in the country... 2.) the voltage converter to convert 220 VAC to 110 VAC, and 3.) then the 3 plug powerstrip for 110 VAC items and/or USB devices that you need to charge.
Again, there is no documentation provided, so if I am wrong on any of this, I welcome being corrrected, but I am pretty sure that I am right in what I am tellling you.
