I won these in a contest based upon audiophile grade musical production quality, The 2010 Audiophillie Music Awards For Excellence In Recorded Sound. I did not go to school for audio engineering, nor do I do music production for a living. Since I was unemployed at the time I considered selling My copper Turbines, but after trying them, I immediatly changed my mind and had to keep them... because they sound PERFECT! Since then I have actually been using them as my secret weapon in the studio, for production and mastering of my instrumental tracks. These things have made production so simple that I no longer toil for hours in post production work such as compressions and equalizations. I literally use none of that now and basicly use the mixer levels on my synth (mastering function turned off there as well) and also the mixing levels on my DAW to get every sound right where I want it. Before I had the Monster Pro Coppers, I would end up juggling several other of the big brand headphones, as well as my studio setup to determine how clean and balanced my sound was. Now that I have the Monster Pro Coppers, I can rest easy knowing that what my ears hear is the actual source as clean and balanced as it possibly could be, and I am also assured that my instrumental compositions will sound amazing no matter what system the listener uses to bask in my audio creations. I no longer ask myself "Well, this sounds amazing on my system, but will it sound this good to people listening to it on their own systems?"

The advantage of not having to spend so much time post production equals A LOT more time set aside for practice, and compositional arrangement.

Long story short, to all the people who think Monster Cable brand is a gimmick? Take it from me. I've loved music since I was in diapers. I play several instruments, and produce and record my own instrumental tracks. I would never use any other brand cable for any reason when audio quality is on the line. Even my midi cables- Monster. Think about it. When you are in studio, and you're working with various electronics in the order of the dozens, you need every bit of slack you can get to accurately record every subtle nuance. Monster Cable is what gives me this edge, and the Pro Copper Turbines complete the signal path. No doubt about it!!!

I purchased the original Monster Turbines and thought to try this model to see if there was any difference. Regardless of its features, the resulting audio quality wasn't an improvement.

Monster takes a lot of pride in the construction so I'll give that to them. However the same issues that plagued the original Turbines exist in this version, the tips. The reason why bass response can vary so much with these is because the orifice is too small, it easily gets pinched while they're in your ears. Those with average to smaller ear canals will not be happy with these earphones despite changing the tip sizes. Even if you manage to find a good position in your ear, you open your mouth, turn your head or simply walk down the street and the sound quality will vary greatly. I had to resort to buying spare tips from Sony and UE just to correct this problem.

At this price range I had to compare it to others such as the Etymotics ER4-P which is a much more musically accurate sounding product, Shure and UE both have products that sound, IMO a lot better without the fuss of having to find a good position in your ear. You can simply insert them and they'll seal up nicely and the driver points correctly into your ear for the best sound. Best of all the others don't fall out of position in your ear and it'll sound great even if you're moving your jaw, moving your head from side to side, up and down and walking around.

To Monster, you have a really good product that has an easily correctable flaw. I know you're proud of the special eartips but you might want to consider offering a different, larger-orifice tip package. Ear canals and shapes are as diverse as a person's fingerprint, there's no real 1 size fits all solution. Bass response is the result of proper sealing, clarity is mostly determined by the vector (exact direction) the driver is pointing in the ear, consistency of audio quality from earphones has to do with how resistant the earphones are from moving around while the person moves their head naturally.

Have someone put it on while listening to a full range of music (heavy lows, full mids, good highs). Have them turn their head 90 degrees to the left and right, have them open their jaws and close them. You'll immediately notice the audio quality changes way too much unless you're in a neutral position.

Comments about Monster Turbine Pro Audiophile In-Ear Speakers with ControlTalk, Copper:

I've been using these for a few months till they just broke recently. The sound quality is what everyone says - it's great, punchy and robust. The base is mild but not overwhelming. Yet it's still not the best it can be. For example, my sennheiser headphone sounds better and it costs less, even though it may be unfair to compare earbuds to a headphone. That said, these earbuds are still solid and superior to most earbuds on the market.

Now the not-so-great bit.
1, bad fit. I've tried all buds and none of them fit my ears. There're like 20 pairs and I've tried them all. The tiniest ones fit better but still not perfect fit. They fall out all the times and it's absolutely impossible to wear them while eating, walking or doing any physical activities.

2, poor build quality for accessories. The ear piece is extremely fragile and broke right away. The button on the pouch fell off when I touched it for the first time.

To sum up from my personal experience.
pro: better than average sound quality
cons: poor fit and build quality

Comments about Monster Turbine Pro Audiophile In-Ear Speakers with ControlTalk, Copper:

I use these headphones while I work on my golf Game. I place them into my ears and all I hear are the excellent reproduction of deep accurate Bass, Perfect Mid Range And High Replication. Weather you are listening to spoken word or Rap or Classical Jazz, these headphones will replicate every sound exactly like the largest highest quality reference speaker systems. I have several headphones from Bang & Olufsen, Bowers and Wilkins, and these are by far my favorites, they are comfortable, and unlike the other brands I mentioned they reproduce the highest highs and the lowest lows accurately and deeply every time! Hands down the best in ear speakers on the market! If you are used to high quality sound, these will not disappoint you and are worth every penny, even have a class leading warranty should something go wrong. Do not sacrifice Sound quality by using an inferior brand!

Comments about Monster Turbine Pro Audiophile In-Ear Speakers with ControlTalk, Copper:

When I bought these headphones, I knew going into it that there of folks who don't like the sound of these, but I'm not one of them. I actually really like the sound that these In Ears have, and they are a great set for me to travel with.

I won't go into all of the details of the other reviewers because they have done an amazing job unpacking all of the details of the good and not as good aspects of these MTPCs.

I'm not someone who listens to headphones hoping for a flat neutral sound. I like my buds to have some tuning that emphasizes the bass in a clean, clear and deep bass without sacrificing clarity of the mid-high range. The MTPCs are definitely. They carry a low smooth bass that makes just about any music genre carry to a beat. I'm not a bass head by any stretch. Most of my music preference is more acoustic rock, folk rock, etc. (Ray Lamontagne, Jason Mraz, of Monsters and Men, John Mayer, etc). And for me, the MTPCs are GREAT even in genres that aren't bass heavy.

The mids are very nice and fluid. I like a very crisp and clear mid that doesn't bleed over to ruin the highs and lows. And for me, the mids on these MTPC are just that. They don't stand out, but aren't recessed and distant.

The highs are very crisp and detailed. One of my favorite things to do with these headphones is play some tracks that are guitar solos, or piano solos. When I was listening to Birdy's self titled album, I felt like I was sitting in the studio while she was recording. I could hear the sound of her foot working the pedal of the piano, the breath she would take in, and it was really cool. Every time I put these headphones in to listen to an album, I hear things that I've never heard before! It's amazing!

One of the sellers for me (which also happens to be a downside for other folks) is the supertips. I actually found a few that fit in my ear really well and comfortably. And, it didn't take too long either, which was nice!

Overall, I've been really pleased with these buds. I'm a fan of the way they are tuned, and they pack lighter than my over the ears.

These are some incredible earbuds that make me toss out all of the old ones that I've tried before (from Klipsch, Sennheiser, and Shure). These Coppers are just as good as my Westone 3s! In fact, with some music, I prefer these Monster Turbine Pro Coppers because of the INCREDIBLE way Monster tuned them.

Disclaimer: I was NOT in any way given these headphones to submit a good review. I paid full price for these.
