Works great

Casts light along low angle to cover entire keyboard without your hands getting in the way.Makes usable an otherwise totally unreadable keyboard in dim light.Most HD laptops I've tried need screen tilted back past 90 degrees to avoid washout...unfortunately, this leaves the keyboard unlit & unreadable.Try also [@]...decent-looking key appliques which use reflective sign technology to let you read your keys at night by the glow of the screen.

Not what I expected

I bought this with great expectation. Trying it out in dim room lighting on my shiny silver laptop surface, I was disappointed. This may be ever so slightly useful for the number keys in the path of the beam, - but more light emits from my laptop screen. I am one of those users who prefers to plug my laptop in if an outlet is readily available, and can't see relying on this as an alternate light source even if the power goes out & I run on battery. Not even worth the [$] I paid on sale. It's cute... so maybe as a stocking stuffer or grab bag gift. But that's about it.

This is a unique idea and works okay. If the neck were a little longer, it would shine on the keyboard a little better. In order to get the whole keyboard lit, you have to angle it in a way that shines light off the other side of the keyboard. To me this is a waste of light.

I would not use this. The light is very low and it doesn't reach the entire keyboard. the neck needs to be longer and the LED light needs to be brighter...Buy something else
