Living in a four story house makes it a bit difficult to get Wi-Fi on all floors from a single router. I work a lot in a small office on the top floor and would lose the Wi-Fi signal at least every hour. I ordered this Range Extender and got it delivered quickly. Setup was very simple, especially pairing it with my Netgear router, took about 10 minutes following the simple instructions for set up. I now get 5 bars on my PC, tablet and wireless printer in my office and am so glad I got this product. It saves me so much time and frustration!

It should be noted that I was given this product free of charge to review.

This extender is what I needed. It gives me the coverage that I hadn't had and desired for a long time. With my current wireless router, I am not always getting its signal or it is weak throughout my house when in another room. Using this extender I am able to see the new signals everywhere in the house and there are constantly on.

A couple of confusing thing that has kept me wondering is why on some devices I can see both signals (2.4 and 5GHz) and on other devices I can only see the 2.4GHz signal. Also, I don't understand why on the extender only the 2.4GHz light is on but the 5GHz is not on. I can get the 5GHz to light up at times but it is usually off. Strange, I can get that signal to show on the devices but it doesn't light up on the extender, making me think it wasn't really connecting as the wireless device shows. Again, why does it show I am connected on the 5GHz signal on my wireless device when the light on the extender is not lit??? Thus, I have spent countless frustrating hours trying to get both issues but still it won't work properly or as expected for me. The instructions for set up are supposed to be simple and easy to do. I am not naïve about setting up things but due to these questions of only being able to see one signal and not the other on some devices and the 5GHz light not going on I could not get this to work using the "simple instructions". If I didn't care about these two things the setup would have been easy (plug and play) but I did care. Also, if you don't like the new extended names and other features (like trying to get all devices showing both signals) you have to figure out how to get into the settings. The support on their website didn't give me any more than the one page sheet that came with the device. I was able to finally get things to work by going into my router, finding the device on it and then configuring the extender from its IP address on my system. None of this was stated on the "simple instructions".

I did find that if I keep the extender near the wireless router I was able to get a stronger signal to other parts of the house than if I put the extender in those rooms standing by itself (as intended). I am guessing that the original signal from my router wasn't strong enough to get to these places thus the signal I got from the extender at these locations wasn't as strong as keeping it near the router. FYI, I did a speed check on both signals and found the 5GHz was faster but not as much as I expected. Also, the upload speed was always faster than the download speed. You would think it should be the other way around as it is on my PC using the original router.

Bottom line, I am able to get a constant single throughout my house where I wasn't able to in the past. So, I am happy (but still confused for the reasons above) to have coverage now.

Comments about NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi Range Extender EX6200-100NAS:

I have purchased others this by far was the best one I pickup. It was easy to setup and it found signal and boosted them so that the other part of the large house could get good wifi reception. helped to increase the wifi signal in the weak areas as well and areas without signal. the construction is stone brick and steel and was able to get to all areas needed. the convenence of the network jacks help us provide connection to a tv and game systems that were also need (non wifi) Someone suggested it and was very happy with it and I took there advise. Very pleased with it

Comments about NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi Range Extender EX6200-100NAS:

I looked at several different brands of WiFi Range Extenders and finally choose the NETGEAR AC1200 because of it's stated abiliy to push a signal throughout the house. I also expected NETGEAR to be better than most other brands as it rating has been very good. I recieved the item two months ago. I was very pleased with it's appearance and ability to stand vertically and also lay down flat with the base that is provided. The instructions were easy to follow, and "fired" up by plugging and playing. Most importantly, it has exceeded my expectations on lighting up all of the bars on my mobil devices throughout our 5000 square foot house.

Comments about NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi Range Extender EX6200-100NAS:

Amazing extender! So far this is the best one out there.
Pros: easy setup it took less than 5 minutes with iPhone.
Dual band 2.4 GHZ and 5.0 GHZ simtaneously.
Works as extender and also as bridge with 4 Ethernet ports and USB
Ports for external hard drive.

Cons : none so far.

I have 4000 sq/ft house so main router couldn't reach all areas of the house but now I can get signals covers 90% of the house . I might get another one to cover guest rooms. So far I'm happy with this purchase.

Gr eat range. Used a wall plug version, before and l had spotty coverage. This machine covers entire house and even back yard. Also, very easy to aet up with one touch wps button. Would recommend to all that have a 2 story and or need coverage in the garage workshop.

Comments about NETGEAR AC1200 WiFi Range Extender EX6200-100NAS:

This unit was very easy to set up and it's performances really amazing. I followed the easy instructions and the setup took less than 30 minutes. Just make sure you have your network passcode before you start. I placed it up high where I can not see it, but I sure can tell it's there. I can walk out my house and across the street, over 100ft away and still have 2 bars. There are no longer any dead spots in my house, garage, front or back yard anymore. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who needs additional wifi coverage. Plus the download speeds were not reduced at all.
