I first bought an Apple Airport Express, but as my "base" router is NetGear (not Apple) the Airport Express didn't work. My fault. Says that clearly. Anyways, I returned the Airport (Staples was, of course, terrific about the exchange...no questions asked) and got this netgear thing. The setup was easy with my MacBook air. It is supposed to do it through WPS but that didn't work for me, so I did it "manually", which was no problem.
I am using this almost exclusively as an "AirPlay" adapter for a 1970's Sony receiver that I wanted to use my iphone to control remotely. One weird thing, and I'd say this is 80% "just" aesthetics, is that the power cord and the audio cord are on opposite sides of the NetGear Range Extender. when you use the direct plug method, this is not really an issue, but when you use the extension cord (so I can put the extender up on a shelf) it means I have wires sticking out, and I don't love that. Again, this is just for show.
In terms of performance, my iPhones drop the connection...a lot. This causes the speakers to pop, as if you pull a headphone plug out of the jack. Not great to hear, and probably bad for the speakers, though mine are old Sansui beasts that I got at a flea market. When it DOES work, which is MOST of the time, it sounds great and is really easy to use. This may be because my network is at capacity. We have a couple of phones, three or four computers, and a tablet on at any given time. Anyways, this basically gets the job done for what I need. I'd recommend this if you didn't go with the Apple Airport base station.

Purchased the product after reading the good reviews. I tried setting up after reading the instruction and following the step by step procedure. I spent over an hour before call tech support. After 20 minute wait I explained everything that I did and the person told me that he would send me to the right person. Another 15 minutes on hold another series of the same questions then the fun began. The tech support person had no idea how to help, they kept putting me on hold to consult with an advisor. Finally after 1.5 hours with this person they put me on hold and never came back. I know there are good reviews, I wish I could have been one but it is what it is. Good Luck!

Comments about NETGEAR Dual Band WiFi Range Extender, Wall-plug edition WN3500RP-100NAS:

I have had Comcast/Xfinity in my home it seems like forever!!! Why can't I get a signal more than 10 feet from my router/modem??? They told me that is the maximum distance! Really????? Whatever, I went t Staples and picked up this Netgear and it is able to do what Comcast can't and charges me and arm and leg for! If you are having problems in getting a good signal beyond ten feet in your home, this the what you need. I took it out of the box plugged it in, found it on my computer WiFi settings, clicked and I was off and running! Thank you!

Ok Solution

Comments about NETGEAR Dual Band WiFi Range Extender, Wall-plug edition WN3500RP-100NAS:

This range extender works ok for limited distances. You need to make sure it is positioned within range of the wireless router which takes some trial & error. My experience is that it extended the wireless signal only about 30 feet. There is only one Ethernet port which limits the usefulness. The main benefit of this model is its low profile. A traditional range extender would be more versatile if space allows.

I needed to boost my WIFI signal and the Netgear Dual Expander did the job. The set up and connecting my devices was a piece of cake.
