NeatReceipts is a mobile scanner and digital filing system that helps you manage all of your paperwork on the computer. NeatReceipts includes NeatWorks software that identifies and extracts the important information from receipts, business cards and documents and automatically organizes it for you. All scanned documents can be searched by keyword so you can find exactly what you need.

I used to have a Visioneer XP100. This was virually useless. I read about the NeatReceipts scanner a while ago and decided to give it a try after reading some good reviews. My main use is to scan 1 page documents and receipts to pdf files. At first pdf quality was bad, but the software upgrade (free-online) improved that tremendously. So far I like it a lot. I recommend you read the documentation carefully if you want to use the software to it's fullest extent.

Not Windows 7 Friendly

The unit appears well built physically.The connection is a mini usb so thats a plus.But the software (Neatworks 4) is a joke. Even after downloading the updated software and drivers it experienced constant unpredictable crashes. Obviously the software isnt ready for Win7 yet. We wasted 4 hours of IT time and opted to return it when we found out tech support would call us back at a later time. We also cancelled our order for the other 14 units. That was a poor business decision for Neat Co. you never ignore the customer needing tech support. This was a total waste of time and gas. We opted for a Xerox travel scanners running Paperport 11. Installed them fine and they work flawlessly.

Their customer support is via email ONLY. When you have an issue, it will be resolved on their time, not yours. I block out time during the day to do certain projects, including expenses. Twice I have had to contact them for support, today being the latest. My last issue was not resolved until the next day. So unless you have a lot of free time on your hands, buyer beware.

I am clicking NO I would not recommend based on their lack of post purchase support.

I am on the road most of the time and use the product to scan receipts, business cards, etc.

Compact and seemingly very durable.

Like most hardware software; one needs to read the help menus or be incredibly intuitive which I am apparently not.

It was difficult to use at first but now I use it all the time as I am subcontracting with a company in California and always sending documents back and forth to them. This is very helpful with that task.
