    Seriously degrades network speed

      Seriously degrades network speed. Put this switch between PC and router and watch your speed drop and drop again when you add another device. Technical support put me on hold for 20 minutes and eventually disconnected.

        For 14 months it performed flawlessly. Then one morning my network was down. I checked everything and the power light was on but the port lights were off. After shooting the problem I determined that the device had failed. Since it has a two year guarantee I contacted their tech support and they are in the process of replacing the switch. Unfortunately, I could not wait for the replacement so I purchased this replacement. Keep your receipt and register your product.Overall the service from Netgear was fine even though I am pretty certain it was outside the USA.I guess [...] may be my next stop with the replacement or maybe I should keep it for a backup.

        I bought the same device about 10 months ago. It started acting up, so I got a new one. When I called Netgear about the warranty on the older one, they say they won't do anything about the warranty until I put the defective one back in my network, observe issues, and then let them debug it over the phone. So, someday when I don't have real work to do, I need to spend working with Netgear.
