This modem set up was extremely easy. The installation cd worked perfectly and ran through the set up wizard quickly. The only problem I had setting up this router was with my service provider who didn't want to provide the password onto their service because I was using a third party modem.

Last summer I spent $150 on a router for my mother in law so she wouldn't constantly have a wire running across the middle of her living room. That Netgear Router (which I forget the model number of) was very easy to set up and has great range with a stable connection. This one, is the complete opposite. I've been a member of the wireless club since the years of B, and have never problems. I noticed that this router was on sale for [$] and figured now would be a good time to get my new house wireless. Nothing but a headache..After the set up, I had to set a password, and that ended up being a game of tag between my ISP and Netgear. Once that was figured out, I would constantly get dropped connections just by having the main computer hard wired and a laptop wireless. The range was terrible also. I tried to connect my nintendo DS and PDA with Wi-Fi and it had 1 bar. After that straw was broke I returned it and decided to go back to Linksys.

Comments about Netgear N150 Wireless ADSL2+ Modem Router:

I purchased this router because all of the other Netgear products I've purchased have been great. I used to be a buyer for a medium size business and have purchased hundreds of Netgear hubs and switches. This router, however, has been a great disappointment.

It offers some decent features like a built in DSL modem, firewall, port forwarding, and dynamic DNS support. My problems with the product are: that it constantly drops the adsl connection and it actually drops it's own wireless network on a regular basis. By dropping it's own wireless network I mean the wireless network I setup on the router regularly doesn't show up in the available wireless networks on my laptop. I have to reboot the router to make the network appear again.

All in all I would shy away from this product. It's got some decent features at a decent price but it's not worth all the hassle that comes along with it.

When home and installed with enclosed dvd and unit came up in minutes. Yes this is the one for the Non-Bit head..or Old Bit Head..
