Works awesome. I live in a large 3 story home and it works 3 story's down from the router. Very impressive. I have 2 different circuit breakers in between the router and the extender and it came right up on my PC perfectly. I don't see any difference between being plugged in directly to the router and using the extender. Plus here is the bonus. The WIFI part of it works amazingly fast. Its a little bit expensive as I went online and found the same unit 25 bux cheaper. BUT I didn't mind paying the extra to have the convienence of getting it from my local Staples store so if anything should go wrong I have a local retailer to get immediate help from rather then having to ship it back to an online retailer.

Easy initial set up, but when I contacted tech support for instructions to secure the network, I wasted about three hours with people who didn't know what to do. Luckily I have a friend that figured it out for me.I have multiple circuit breakers so I called their tech support to see if that was OK before buying the product and was warned by them that it wouldn't work -- but it does just fine -- another example of bad support. The manual is just a quad-fold item with minimal and conflicting instructions. Waste of paper. This is all too bad because the product does indeed work.

I extended my wireless network to a separated workshop building over 200 ft from the router inside my house. It works as good if not better than in the house. I am very pleased!

    Comments about Netgear Powerline AV 200 Wireless-N Extender Kit:

    This went in an office building with poured concrete walls, inside and out. Wireless between rooms was near impossible. Wireless repeaters just added to the delay when surfing.

    Setup;
    We plugged in each unit in the same room, and plugged in the base unit to the router.

    We loaded the software and configured the wifi setup.

    We then moved the wireless unit to its new home, about 500' away. The leds all came on, and we had full wifi in the new office in under 20 minutes from when we started.

      My husband had at first attempted to install this and had everything hooked up wrong. So, after he got frustrated and stormed off, I unhooked it all, READ THE DIRECTIONS, hooked it up correctly and tadaaa! Easy Peasy

      Useless in a 2-storey home

            Setup was ok but don't follow the instructions. It worked as advertised on the same floor as the router but I needed it downstairs. Would not work anywhere downstairs. Tech support advised me that it would not work across a circuit breaker in the main house panel. This means it will not work in a 2-story house. Too bad.

                A:

                Yes this extender kit creates a wireless signal in your home where you can't get wireless coverage using your homes existing electrical wiring. It works on your same wireless connection so any device on that will easily still connect.

                A:

                Yes, you can install two wireless receivers in different parts of your home; however, Netgear states that they need to be on the same electrical circuit. The additional adapter is item# 853552; you can view this item on Staples.com by entering the item# in our search bar.
