I use this switch as an extension to my home network into my office. I have several computers in this one room and this small switch makes it easy to get them up and keep them there.

The one complaint I do have is that because it is a light weight unit it is hard to get it to lay flat because the cables make it buck if they don't lay flat. Otherwise, for the price it does exactly what was advertised.

I've purchased a Powerline AV Ethernet Adapter Kit to run an Ethernet connections from my 4 port Wireless N router to the other part of my house for a connection to my TV. I now would like to add a Blue-Ray Disc player with Ethernet capability and also may want to use other devices in that area. Can I use this switch to up the connections from 1 to 4? Could I also use another Wireless Router as well since, the wireless signal is poor on that side of the hours?

Yes this will split the connection from 1 port to 4, to enhance the wireless capability in that area you would need an Ethernet Access point item number 509790

Yes you can by using the principles of a wireless repeater. Use a search engine with something like "how do I setup a wireless repeater"

The difference between an ethernet switch and a router is that the switch will only support 1 connection at a time. A router can support simultaneous connections? Is that the only difference between the switch and router?

This is an ethernet switch which will allow you to add additional PC's to one connection but cannot use each PC at the same time. You will need to purchase a larger router with more ports.
