      We have a small home network (four computers). This allows all to have internet access.

      The installation instructions were minimal and did not work. The tech support staff for the product were very helpful, but it took about 1/2 hour for them to walk me through a number of steps to actually install the product on the first computer. After that, it was simple to connect the other computers to the network.

        I used this switch to speed up the connection to two old Win XP machines I have my youngest kids on, and to facilitate adding more ports for wiring the Wii and a Netflix dedicated computer in the bedroom.

                I have a Linksys BEFSR41 Etherfast Cabel/DSL Router connected to our Cabel service. 3 computers and a network printer are connected to the router and I need to connect another device, specifically a network hard dirve. Will this device solve my problem? Do I connect this to the routers uplink and reconnect all my computers and printer to the switch?

                • A:

                  Disconnect a device from the BEFSR41 and connect it to this switch. Cable the new switch to the now open port on the BEFRS41 and you have extended your ports. The Netgear will automatically set the port for uplink to the existing switch.
