Bought this router because it had everything - except it didn't work.

The first one I bought wouldn't work, supposedly because firmware was corrupted. Spent 5 hours on the phone with tech support only to find out the router was bad. Took it back and got a new one.

The second router worked ok - except the wireless printing control (one of the main reasons I bought the router) never worked correctly. Printed about 1 out of 25 times. Spent several hours on the phone with tech support for that, too. Sent me the beta usb controller that worked while on the phone but then stopped just the same.

Firmware corrupts every time the power goes out or even flickers, and it is a complicated pain in the butt to fix it!

After about the 6th time that happened, the router stopped working altogether. But it was too late to return to Staples. Netgear is sending me a new one because of warranty, but I am going to sell it and buy a N300 and call it even.

(actually I already bought it, have noticed no difference in speed, and the power went out twice and never bothered it)

DO NOT BUY THIS ROUTER - IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY AND IT WILL BE MORE TROUBLE THAN IT'S WORTH! (AND WIRELESS AC IS TOO FAST TO BENEFIT ANYONE)

It took me longer to take the old router off the computer than it did to set up the network. All of the devices blaze even my old "only somewhat smart" phone. Even my wireless printers are working more efficiently now. If our cable service was so ridiculously priced I would upgrade to their fastest speeds just so I could utilize some more of the features of this router. If you leave the default settings and follow the directions, you will be up and running in less than 5 minutes. With all of the devices in the house, going at once there is very little to no drop off in speed or power.

another good product from Netgear, I started years ago with their RT311, had it as a paper weight for a number of years, who knows where it is now, I digress...what a trip,

THe R6300, great product, works well, great upgrade for any one who still has a WGR600 series, I was trading up from the WNDR3700, both good solutions

              I buy another one.

yes, there is a great advantage. before i added the A6200 adapter to the laptop, i was getting between 30 to 50 Mbps transfer rate. adding this adapter now brings me to the 850 to 900 Mbps rate. much much faster now

No advantage to adding a 6200 adapter to computer that already has a "g" wireless card, if its an "a" or "b" card the upgrade is worth the cost. The Netgear Universal WiFi Range Extender (WN3000RP) is an excellent choice for this router.

I have a Brother MFC-7840W printer that's not compatible with Apple Air Print (for my iPhone & iPad). I read that this router is Air Print compatible. Could I now connect the printer to the router (either wirelessly or USB) and print directly from my "i" devices to the Brother??
