I have a Sony networked flatscreen TV without built-in WiFi. I had purchased the official Sony USB adaptor, but the wireless performance was dismal. I tried with three different routers - Belkin, Netgear and Cisco - all to no avail.

I purchased the Netgear device out of desperation.

SUCCESS! Setup was extremely simple using standard WiFi pushbutton pairing, even on my AES/TKIP secured wireless N network. The TV immediately recognized that its hardwired Ethernet port was active, DHCP went without a hitch and streaming performance went from unusable to completely stable. My router is upstairs at one end of the house, TV downstairs at the other, yet Netflix, YouTube and streams from my home server are played perfectly.

I would strongly recommend this device if you are frustrated with lesser solutions.
