Comments about Netgear Virus and Spam VPN Firewall 1 Year Subscription Bundle:

I bought the Netgear UTM5 about a week ago to replace an open source firewall. I had simply outgrown the old devices throughput, IDS/IPS capability and hardware reliability. While I had looked at some of the other Netgear firewalls such as the FVS318 and FVG336 they simply did not have the filtering and AV options that I needed. I decided to research the next level up to a Unified Threat Management device and I looked at several vendors and chose the Netgear. This thing rocks. The menus are a bit oddly laid out but once you're over that hurdle you find they are fairly logically laid out. Compared to my old setup there is virtually no maintenance. If you decide to buy one take your time and set it up right. The extra time spent on initial setup pays off.
