          Using the 3 1/2 inch prong fasteners are so much better for larger projects than trying to hook together 2 of the 2 3/4 inch fasteners. The larger fasteners are sturdier and more professional looking than 2 smaller fasteners hooked together.

                When it says it has a 3.5" capacity is this how tall the prongs are or is this how thick of a stack of paper can be fastened with room to fold them over on top?

                  The 3.5" capacity is how thick of a stack of paper it will hold. They measure 2 3/4" from center-to-center. You can use one of these instead of using two of the 2 3/4" fasteners.
