I bought this to replace an Ikea table that I had been using as a computer desk. The Hampton desk nearly doubles my deskspace because the giant keyboard tray can hold my keyboard, mouse and stationary.

The desk feels very solid once the x-shaped supports are attached in the back. The finish is nice, but there are some grooves that line the desk and keyboard tray that aren't done very well. The paint in the grooves are chipped and jagged.

The desk was incredibly easy to assemble, but there were a few small hitches.

There are two metal support beams in the back of the desk that need to be screwed into the solid-wood legs. However, the provided holes do not match up with the length of the metal poles, so I had to create my own. If you run into this problem, just figure out where the holes SHOULD be and use a small nail to create new holes for the wood screws. The original holes are tiny enough that you can't see them against the dark finish of the desk.

The other problem is that the keyboard tray rails come pre-installed. At first, I was happy that I didn't have to deal with installing the rails, but quickly realized that they weren't very straight or even. My keyboard tray still works, but the right side is slightly lower and sticks out a little bit farther than the left. It looks like it's possible to remove the rails and align them, but it wasn't worth the extra effort for me.

The desk looks really good, holds my laptops and is stable -but- I purchased two of them and both of them were missing holes in the same places and I had to remount the drawer slides on both of them because the were severely misaligned.
