This light is excellent!

This light is comfortable and effective, and I like the full-spectrum natural light it emits. I was using a 100W quartz-halogen lamp in my office, which provided strong illumination but was uncomfortably hot and drove up my air conditioning bills. This little Ott light at 13W illuminates my whole work space and is very cool (temperature-wise---it also looks cool!). Provides plenty of light. I do not have any buzzing noises as reported by another reviewer. [...]

I was very dissapointed with this lamp.

I like the OTT-LITES.I have owned one for the past five years. I felt save in buying another. Was I surprised when that was not the case.This model:#0641 was a big dissapointment.The light itself does not stay put it wobbles.You cannot position it the way you needed.I must tighten that light at least three times a day. I should have returned it,but I kept putting it off. HOPING.

I am an artist and needed a lamp with adjustable height to accommodate my work. I bought this lamp because it says in the description that it is adjustable from 14-28". It is not. The 28" height means flipping the lamp assembly end upright into the air and counting that as part of the height. Huh? Why would anyone want to do that? Seems the person who bought it before me returned it as well since the packaging was ripped open and the bulb seal was broken when I received the item from Staples delivery. Nice.

I love this lamp! The light is bright, natural, not harsh. The work area is illuminated beautifully, just enough to be able to see details but not over-powering. It replaces the Catalina Halogen lamp that broke twice, created a great deal of heat, but offered good lighting. The Ott lamp is very stylish. I like that the base is out of the way and the arm extends over the work area. I'm very pleased.
